I had a wonderful experience with PHRC (Dr Puig and his staff). This was my second hair transplant, so I have something to compare this to. My first transplant was with a general cosmetic doctor, who essentially just loaned out his office facilities to some hair transplant techs that came in for the day. The results were poor, thus the “do-over” with Dr Puig. If you decide on a hair transplant, I suggest you go with someone who does this full time, and Dr Puig is an excellent choice. Dr Puig is an expert in the field, and explains the choices/options, advantages, disadvantages of each HT (FUE verses strip harvesting) method in a very clear manner. Dr Puig did much of the procedure himself and was heavily involved in the entire process. Recovery was much more rapid than I expected, with very little swelling thanks to the medication provided for the procedure. The staff is very friendly and skilled. The office amenities are great (Netflix – if you care to watch a movie while the procedure is being performed). His new (very nice) “shop” is in a very convenient central Houston location with free/plentiful parking. There is nothing I could think of to gripe about with this experience. First class all the way.

The most common cause of long-term, permanent hair loss in men is a condition called male pattern baldness, or androgenetic alopecia. The facts are:
The onset of male pattern hair loss typically accompanies puberty, but the rate of loss is different in each man. Due to the fact that an area does not look thin or bald until at least 50% of the original hair density has been lost, the onset appears to occur at different ages.
My experience with PHRC has been nothing but positive. Dr. Puig and his staff have always been friendly, informed, and responsive to any questions or concerns I had before and after my procedure. Additionally, Dr. Puig is up to date on the current literature, which puts he and his technique at the forefront of the field. When making the important decision about who you choose to do your procedure, give them a chance to make an impression on you as they have me.

Had a great experience with Dr Puig! Loved how it turned out. My family has used him and now my friends want to after seeing all of the great results. If you’re on the fence about doing it I would highly recommend it!

Dr. Puig is an expert at what he does and is the only person I trust with hair restoration. He is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to answer all questions and look closely at your specific hair loss pattern to determine the right application to look completely natural. He changed the way I felt about my appearance and I no longer feel like I have to hide inside. Great staff too, very friendly and helpful. I wished I'd done it sooner.

Hair restoration is a contemporary term referring to the combined therapies to regrow or stabilize hair loss. Hair transplantation is the cosmetic surgical solution to the problem, that can be integrated with other technologies to produce a more natural result. The usage of sophisticated anesthesia, surgical tools and surgery techniques, anti-swelling medication, lasers and other medical prescriptions allow PHRC physicians to restore hair growth and, in most cases, reverse, slow down, or prevent future hair loss.
Patients experience virtually no pain during the hair restoration procedure. After treatment, minor discomfort for a short period. At PHRC we ask every patient to score their discomfort during the procedure on a 1 – 10 scale, most patients rate their discomfort as a 1 or 2.
Although Dr. Puig prefers that patients take 1 – 2 days to recover, many patients work the next day and resume all normal daily activities within three days. All activities, including exercise and regular hair care, can be resumed in five days.
If the post-operative instructions are followed carefully, the small graft crusts will disappear in less than a week.
Within 90 – 120 days, you will begin to see tiny hairs growing and within four to eight months, most of your grafted hair will have grown back. Roughly 40% of patients who use PHRC as their hair restoration center experience significant hair growth in 45 – 90 days.
